Recently, by chance, while reading on WeChat, I came across a netizen who shared an Obsidian WeChat reading note synchronization plugin. With curiosity, I went to learn about Obsidian and could only say that I fell into a trap.

You can also save and synchronize these files in your own way. I have synchronized a copy to GitHub, and Obsidian supports automatic synchronization through plugins.

There is a consensus among everyone that the format of markdown should last longer than most companies today. Even if Obsidian is declining in the future, there will still be alternatives to it. At this time, these very authentic markdown files can be seamlessly integrated. Another important significance of returning to the local area is that these knowledge, thoughts, and data are no longer just casually excerpted and uploaded. You should be as cautious in recording your thinking process and learning results as you were with those notebooks from your student days.

2. Dual chain methodology

This may be a contentious point, and I don’t want to elaborate too much. I have always believed in the saying that true learning relies on the activities and habits in the mind, and tools are the tools that carry these activities and habits, rather than putting the cart before the horse. The big shot who influences millions of people in the voting group may use a small paper notebook and a ballpoint pen as recording tools every day.

3. Plugin concept

With the popularity of Microsoft VSCode, custom plugins have also become very popular. Anything has two sides, too many and too rich plugins can lead to content diffusion and inability to focus on the knowledge itself; There are too few plugins, and some necessary requirements cannot be implemented. Therefore, other tools need to be used, and it is necessary to maintain an additional similar tool. Obsidian gives the impression of being very subtle and low-key in plugins. It’s not really urgent for you to use various plugins, but when you think of certain key points, you find that there is already very good support and it’s very useful. I am currently using the calendar plugin, diary plugin, and WeChat reading plugin from the community, which are very user-friendly and embody the essence of plugins. They are small yet beautiful.
